A. Account Deletion Flow
When you request account deletion from the Account tab deletion flow:
- your account is immediately deactivated
- your profile is removed from discovery
- you are logged out
- push notifications are disabled
- you cannot send or receive new requests or messages while deactivated
Existing chat history may remain visible to the other participant so conversation history is preserved.
B. Thirty-Day Restoration Window
For 30 days after the deletion request, your account remains in a deactivated state. If you log back in during that period, your account may be restored.
C. Permanent Deletion
If you do not restore the account during the 30-day window, we permanently delete or anonymize personal data that is no longer needed, including:
- profile information
- uploaded photos and media
- saved addresses
- authentication identifiers, where deletion is technically and legally permitted
After permanent deletion, past messages may remain in other users' conversation history, but your identity will appear as "Deleted User."
D. Information Retained After Deletion
Some information may be retained after deletion:
- transaction records: retained for up to 7 years where required for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or legal purposes
- safety and abuse prevention identifiers: certain limited identifiers may be retained in hashed or otherwise minimized form for up to 1 year after ordinary deletion to prevent abuse or evasion
- banned-account enforcement: if an account is permanently banned for serious violations, certain limited identifiers may be retained indefinitely in hashed or minimized form solely to enforce the ban and prevent re-registration
E. Immediate Deletion Requests
Where required by applicable law, users may request immediate deletion of personal data without the standard restoration window, except where retention is required for legal, financial, or safety reasons.
